2026 FESTIVAL CONTEST INFORMATION
The Music City Hot Chicken Festival marks 20 glorious years this July 4th – same blazing hot day, same East Nashville park and a golden opportunity to be crowned champion of the 2026 Hot Chicken Festival Amateur Cooking Competition. Many aspire, but only one team is awarded the coveted trophy and assumes the mantle of Hot Chicken Mastery.   

Everything is provided for your fearless flock – the prep and cooking station, the fryer, the power, the oil, the chicken, the captivated crowds cheering on the competitors. You bring cooking utensils, serving dish, your secret, searing spices and the very best clucking hot chicken recipe in all of Nashville.  

The finished fiery fowl will be presented to our esteemed panel of celebrity judges, who will expertly assess every entry based on appearance, taste and heat level. Remember– it’s Hot Chicken, not Medium Chicken and not Tongue Blistered Chicken.  A fine line, feathered friends.  

Be creative! Be confident! Be costumed if you dare! 

Apply below to be considered for the hot seat of contenders who believe they have what it takes to take home the trophy from this milestone year of Hot Chicken celebration.  Pick a team name that will live in infamy, tell us your personal hot chicken story and why your recipe is the one that will scorch the competition.  

Deadline to apply for the contest is Saturday June 20 so don’t delay! The early birds get a spot in the 2026 Hot Chicken Cooking Competition.

*All participants must be at least 18 years of age, and must agree to the use of your name/image for Festival promotional purposes.  Past participants and winners are welcome to compete again and possibly repeat!
