When the Music City Hot Chicken Festival started 8 years ago, there were only three Hot Chicken restaurants in Nashville. Today in 2014, there are many in Nashville and more in cities around the country.

The Hot Chicken Coalition was created to provide a resource for those looking to learn about Hot Chicken and a place to protect the designation of what makes any chicken Nashville Hot Chicken.

As our insignia states, our mission is simple: To Protect and To Burn.

The Hot Chicken Coalition is made of a group of community volunteers and civic leaders in Nashville who have been working with the annual Music City Hot Chicken Festival and give their time to the cause. It is a not-for-profit organization and all funds raised from the Festival and other efforts are returned to the local community through the Friends of Shelby Parks and Bottoms.
